Thomas F. Meagher

The Thomas F. Meagher Foundation is named after Thomas Francis Meagher, an Irish Patriot, US Army General and Governor of Montana who flew the first tricolour flag on the 7th March 1848 from 33 The Mall in Waterford at the Wolf Tone Club.

OUR National Flag

On the 7th of March 1848, Thomas Francis Meagher flew a tricolour flag at the Wolf Tone Club in Waterford city, where it flew continuously for eight days and nights before being removed by the authorities.
